I am so excited to finally release the Log Cabin Toss Quilt.  This design is fun, bold and comes together very quickly with the unique cutting technique of this design. I know that you guys are going to love making your very own version of this Quilt.

You can choose to feature one Print style fabric or make it from any fabric collection you choose.  There is even a Bonus Scrappy Block option, so this makes it the perfect quilt to make a dent in your scrap bucket.

Starting August 15th we will be kicking off the #logcabintossqal

The Log Cabin Toss Quilt comes in three sizes – Baby Quilt 40.5in x 40.5in (103cm x 103cm), Lap Quilt 64.5in x 64.5in (164cm x 164cm) and a Queen Quilt 88.5in x 88.5in (225cm x 225cm).

Included in the pattern is a Colouring Page to help you work out your colour placement, you can also use this to plan out your machine quilting.

The #logcabintossqal will be held over 5 weeks - this gives you plenty of time to get yourself all organised before hand and has that causal approach to the timing so that it is not overwhelming for anyone.  I will be hosting it over on Instagram using the #logcabintossqal and #tiedwitharibbonpatterns hashtags.  There will be prizes from some fantastic sponsors, Newsletters each week with information about each weeks' task, along with tips and tricks to help you make your #logcabintossquilt

The Log Cabin Toss Quilt is here

The Log Cabin Toss Quilt pattern is here.
If you love big and bold designs that come together in a flash, then the Log Cabin Toss Quilt is just perfect for you. This new design was so fun to create and I couldn't just stop at making one sample and ended up making 3, it was so addictive.

For this version I made it with the Anna Maria Horner Print - "Piecework" in Sea, from her Hindsight Collection and then paired it with matching Tula Pink Solids.  You can choose to feature one print style fabric or make it from any fabric collection you choose.

There is even a Bonus Scrappy Block option, so this makes it the perfect quilt to make a dent in your scrap bucket.

The pattern comes in 3 sizes - Baby Quilt 40.5in x 40.5in (103cm x 103cm), Lap Quilt 64.5in x 64.5in (164cm x 164cm) and a Queen Quilt 88.5in x 88.5in (225cm x 225cm). Great for the confident Beginner.

And I said I couldn't just stop at one Log Cabin Toss - here is the version that I made using Melody Millers Stay Gold Collection and Sarah Watts upcoming Twirl collection.  I absolutely adore this floral.  All of these fabrics are for Ruby Star Society.

The unique construction method for this design will have you surprised just how quickly this design works up and will be ready to snuggle under even sooner. This isn't just any ordinary Log Cabin block you have made before.

And here is the third version I worked up using Anna Maria Horners "Clippings" in Charcoal from her Love Always Collection and again paired with matching Tula Pink Solids.

Definately next up on my list is making a scrappy version.  In the pattern there is a scrappy Block pattern for you to make up so that you can make a big dent in your scrap bucket.

You can get lots of inspiration for the Log Cabin Toss Quilt at the hashtag - #logcabintossquilt.  My pattern testers have made the most amazing versions and you will see lots of different fabrics, colours and textures used and how great they all look.

The Log Cabin Toss Quilt PDF pattern is here.

Or you can get it in Paper format here as well

For wholesale customers the Log Cabin Toss Quilt is available through Creative Abundance.

I hope you enjoy making the #logcabintossquilt as much I have loved designing this pattern.  I am so excited to see the version that you make so make sure to tag me @tiedwitharibbon and use the hashtags, #logcabintossquilt and #tiedwitharibbonpatterns

The Halo Cowl Pattern Release

Introducing the Halo Cowl.  This Cowl has been on my "To Design" list for a long, long time.  And I am so excited with all the different versions that I could not stop crocheting up myself. I am beyond thrilled to now have it added to my Crochet Pattern Catalogue.

The Halo Cowl is crocheted using Sock Yarn in two different colours.  One for the Trim and the other for the Main.  This is great if you have some scrap yarn left over or have even got a Sock Set sitting in your stash.  It also means that you can make it up with any Sock Yarn (or Fingering weight yarn)

The Halo Cowl works up so quickly, is super addictive and are great to make for gifts or to keep for yourself.  I love the short cozy style of this Cowl that works perfectly to sit within your jumper or jacket neckline keeping you warm without the bulk.

You can easily adapt the pattern to any weight yarn, or just use a single colour or even a variegated yarn.  Even make this Halo Cowl longer if you choose (the maths for how to make this smaller or larger is given in the pattern instructions).

Wholesale customers can purchase the Halo Cowl through my Distributors -

The Halo Cowl will also be popping up soon in all the best Local Quilt and Yarn stores.

I cant wait to see the #halocowl that you make.  Please add the hashtags #halocowl and #tiedwitharibbonpatterns to your posts and tag me - @tiedwitharibbon so I can see your beautiful Halo Cowls that you make.

Spotlight Feature and a Free Pattern

Spotlight Feature
The Folk Floral Quilt

I was recently asked by Spotlight to design a Quilt to celebrate Quilting Expo Month that is held in their stores.  I got to go in and choose all the Fabrics and Notions I would need to make and design a project which is now available for you, as a Free Pattern on their website.

I choose to use a gorgeous Floral Print by Kirsten Katz and all the Sew Easy Tools and notions were so great to use.

You can check out the Tutorial here on my Instagram

This big block design was used featuring one beautiful floral and then paired with lots of great co-ordinating coloured Solids.  I also used the Folk Floral print for the backing.

I also had the great pleasure of being interviewed in the Spotlight Maker Feature.

I hope you enjoy making this Quilt pattern.  Make sure to tag me @tiedwitharibbon and @spotlightstores if you do.

The Liberty Belle Quilt Glow Up

Once upon a time.... I wrote my very first Quilt pattern.  It is called the Liberty Belle Quilt.  I adore this version still to this day that I made from my Liberty stash along with some Linen.  It is all hand quilted and this was made for my oldest daughter who had a hand in choosing the Liberty fabrics that made up the colour palette.   It was one of the first patterns I released in my Tied with a Ribbon range and always has been a quilt I have loved.

Back in 2015 when it was released it was written in one size only.  It had been on my mind to revisit this quilt pattern and give it a glow up so that I could now remake a new version and add lots more value to this pattern that has proved to be even so popular still today.

So fast forward to today....... and a bundle of Tula Pink Daydreamer later and I had a new cover girl star for this pattern.

Here is the stunning Queen size version of my Liberty Belle Quilt which has undergone a “Glow Up”.  This size uses a Full FQ Bundle. I used the beautiful @tulapink Daydreamer fabrics. 🦩 🦐 🌈 🦋 🐆 🥝🍍

The new pattern now includes:

🧡 Available in 4 sizes (Baby, Lap, Single and Queen size)
💛 Pre-cut Friendly (Jelly Roll for the Baby, Lap and Single sizes)
💚 Cutting Layouts included
❤️ Colouring Pages included
💜 Beginner Friendly
💙 Fast and fun to make

You can get the Liberty Belle pattern here

Wholesale through Creative Abundance and in all the best Local Quilt Stores.

Two Hearts Quilt Along - Week 4

Well I can't believe we have come to the final week of the Two Hearts Quilt Along.  I am beyond humbled by all those who have joined in and for all the love this pattern of mine has been shown.  A massive thank you to you all for your support - it really does mean so much to me.

So this week is all about finishing your blocks as well as getting your Quilt Top ready for Quilting, and Binding and being able to then finish it up.  I have put together some tips and links below which I hope will help you with the decisions for this next part of the process with how you will finish it.

QUILTING DECISIONS

When it comes to deciding on how to Quilt your Quilt - you have lots of options.

Quilt It Yourself - for those keen to quilt your own Quilt there are lots of ways you can tackle this.  You can simply quilt tram lines either sides of all the seam lines for simple but effective quilting.  You can get as adventurous as you like with Free Motion Quilting or even more detailed straight line quilting.  Or how about Cross-Hatching over the entire quilt or even using a Large Zig Zag stitch without needing a lot of experience.

For those wanting to give Free-Motion Quilting a go or already are familiar with this Technique, check out this Blog Post I wrote all about Machine Quilting.  I hope this gives you some helpful tips.

Send it to a Professional - you can send your quilt to a Long Arm quilter who can either do and Edge to Edge Design or Custom Quilt your finished Quilt.

Hand Quilt it - if you love the look of hand quilting or have ever wanted to give this a go, head over and check out all my best Hand Quilting Tips and Tools here.  There is nothing more satisfying than the look of perfectly imperfect hand made stitches in a quilt.

BINDING YOUR QUILT

Once you have your Quilt all Quilted - now you can turn your attention to Binding your Quilt. There are so many Tutorials for how to bind you Quilt if you Google.

I have put together a Tutorial on how to work the Binding continuously around the corner when you sew it onto the top of your Quilt – it’s a small but very helpful and useful way to sew your Binding all on in one go.  Check it out here

So this weeks task is to post a pic to Instagram using the hashtags #twoheartsquiltalong#twoheartsquilt and #tiedwitharibbonpatterns of your blocks for your Two Hearts Quilt.  It helps to tag me - @tiedwitharibbon to make sure I see your post and of course your Profile has to be set to Public for me to see it.

A massive thank you again to everyone who has bought my Pattern(s) and participated in the Two Hearts Quilt Along - I am so blown away by how many of you from all over the world have joined in and just in love with your fabric choices and how your quilts have come together.

Thank you , Thank you, Thank you

Two Hearts Quilt Along - Week 3

Here at the halfway mark and very excited to see that by the end of this week your Quilt Tops will be over halfway completed.

It's Week 3 of the Two Hearts Quilt Along - we are at the halfway mark and it is very exciting to see lots of Quilts starting to come together and all these beautiful fabric choices becoming gorgeous Two Hearts Quilt tops.

This week we are working on sewing up more blocks so that you have 4 (Baby), 12 (Large Lap), or 19 (Queen) finished in total.

Did you check out the Reel last week that highlighted my love for Block loc Rulers? You can check it out here if you missed it.

Happy Quilting
