Pixie Noel Blog Tour

I have long been a fan of Tasha Noel and her wonderful designs.  One of the first patterns I designed as Tied with a Ribbon was using Tasha's ranges and I have been in love ever since.  Tasha has such a whimsical and distinct feel for her fabrics and this range - Pixie Noel is just the perfect mix of prints for Christmas. Pixie Noel is Tasha's later range for Riley Blake Fabrics and today is my stop on the Blog Tour.

I was immediately drawn to the Dark Blues and Aqua's in this range to create a modern Christmas design.  There are the sweetest little bunnies, cute Pixie's and their clothes as well as birds and all the traditional Christmas flora.

I just love these blue colours and they were perfect for a Snow inspired design.

The "Pixie Bunnies" print is my favourite.  I decided to combine Machine Piecing with Appliqué for this fun and new Christmas Wall Hanging/Mini Quilt.  With Snowflakes as my inspiration this design came together dreaming of a "White Christmas".

And of course I had to add some sparkle using Aurifil Brillo #800 as the perfect Silver metallic.  I really love using these metallic threads - they can be used in your machine and I have not even needed to use a metallic needle.  They work beautiful through the machine and I have had no trouble at all with any snapping, shredding or breaking as I am using these threads.

My latest pattern - "Let it Snow" Christmas Wall Hanging is now available as a PDF pattern in my store.  This pattern is also available wholesale through Creative Abundance.

Pixie Noel is now available in stores and in Australia is distributed through Millhouse Collections.  I can't wait to get sewing with the other prints in this range and have lots of other Christmas sewing on the agenda.  You can see all the other Pixie Noel Blog sewing going on over at #pixienoelblogtour, #pixienoel and @tashanoel1.

New Pattern Releases

Introducing today two new patterns that I have been working on - first up is my Crochet Trim Blanket.  You may remember that a while back I made a Liberty version of this for my brand new baby niece.  Well after a lot of requests I have now turned that into a pattern for you all to enjoy.

This Blanket comes together very quickly using either Charm Squares or of course any fabrics that you love.  And only requires a few basic Crochet stitches to crochet this sweet scallop trim to your quilt.

The pattern includes the instructions for how to make the actual Quilt and then how to add your Crochet Trim Border to your quilt.  Such a sweet and delicate finish for a Quilt that just has a little something extra.

You can find the PDF Pattern for my Crochet Trim Blanket in my store.

My latest pattern is this modern and visually striking Confetti Quilt.  Based on my Confetti Cushion pattern I had several requests to up-size the cushion pattern to a Quilt Size version.

This amazing bundle of Trinket Fabric by Melody Miller for Cotton and Steel was the bundle I picked up at Sample Spree while I was away at Spring Quilt Market.  I knew this fabric range was the perfect fabric to showcase in this design.

This design is perfect for you to cut into your favourite Fat Quarter Bundles or will make a huge dent in your overflowing scrap basket.

This quilt is the perfect unisex quilt for people of all ages - adults and children alike will love this design.

Confetti Quilt is now available as a PDF Pattern in my store.

My patterns are also available wholesale through my Distributor - Creative Abundance.  These and all my patterns can be purchased through them for stores who are looking to stock my patterns.

Little Ruby Quilt Along - Finish - Fat Quarter Shop

Sharing with you today my Little Ruby Quilt Along Quilt - all finished.  I am so thrilled with how this quilt all came together and this beautiful design by Camille Roskelley for Fat Quarter Shop.

These Little Ruby fabrics are just ever so sweet and my quilt has been made with a special new arrival in mind.  Making the Star Blocks was so easy with the Creative Grid Rulers and came together really quickly.  You can find the pattern to make this quilt for yourself here

I sent this quilt to professionally Long Arm Quilted by Carol Brady of The Quilting Cottage.  I just love the floral pattern we chose that looks very similar to the flowers in the prints.

For my backing for this quilt, I have made it completely reversible by using blocks I had made from my Spell it with Moda Quilt.  This quilt has gone to a very special new little lady indeed.  I love my quilts to have owners when I make them - it makes the process so much more rewarding.

I hope you have enjoyed this Little Ruby Quilt Along - I have just loved making this quilt.  You can check out the hash tag #littlerubyquiltalong for lots of beautiful inspiration from all the other makers who joined in.

Little Ruby Quilt Along - Part 3 - Fat Quarter Shop

How quickly this lovely Little Ruby Quilt Along together with Fat Quarter Shop has been flying by.  I have been busy sewing together all of my rows for this beauty.  You can get the free pattern from here to make one for yourself.

These video tutorials are great and go through all the sewing details.

Once all my stars were sewn then it was quick and easy to arrange and sew together all the rows for this quilt.

I will be back on the 11th July to show you the full reveal of this quilt.  I have sent mine out to be professionally Long Arm Quilted as this quilt is going to be for a very special gift.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing all the other makers and their quilt tops
