Little Joys by Elea Lutz

While it may only be May I love Christmas and all the planning and preparation that goes into this special season.  This new range designed by Elea Lutz called Little Joys is the sweetest vintage inspired Christmas range that I know will be loved by many.  If you loved her Milk, Sugar and Flower range then you will be equally mesmerised with this Christmas range of prints.

Made for Penny Rose Fabrics and distributed here in Aus by Millhouse Collections there are 12 prints in this range that have your ever faithful dots and characters that are very cute such as Reindeer's and Gingerbread Men.

I love the traditional colours of this range with the splash of pink and I have set about creating a new pattern that will be all about the countdown to the visit from the big jolly red man himself.

This range will be arriving here in Aus in July.

Hexology Cushion Trio Pattern - New Release

I love Reproduction and 1930's Fabrics.  This new collection - 30's Minis by Erin Turner for Penny Rose Fabrics is ever so cute with the small scale of the prints and vibrant colours and patterns.  I set about creating a Sampler Style set of Cushions based on Hexagons for this pattern.

There is such a great mix of Florals and Geometric patterns in this range.  All scaled down to just the perfect Mini size.  With such a great mix of colours this range will delight all those lovers of Reproduction fabrics.   This range is now available here in Australia at the following stores

I have used Machine Sewing, Appliqué and English Paper Piecing to create this Cushion Trio set.  Each cushion is a different size so that they can be used as a set or to give the variety for different places around the home.

The "Gumballs" Cushion is machine sewn.

This Applique cushion can be either sewn on the Machine or by hand.

And as my love for English Paper Piecing grows - I could not resist to make this "Grandmothers Flower Garden" inspired cushion using Hexagon Papers and 6 Pointed Stars - all sewn by hand.

Rainbow CAL (Crochet A Long) Finished!

A little while ago I started my Rainbow Cal.  I crocheted and crocheted squares upon squares till now - it is all done!  There is even a Hash tag #RainbowCal  over on Instagram where lots of other joined in with the fun.

All together there are 336 - 2in squares (16 x 21) making it 32in x 42in or 81.5cm x 108cm.  

The yarn I used was Rico Essentials Cotton DK.  Is is so soft and drapey and is beautiful to work with.  I used a size 4mm hook.

The Pom Pom Trim came from the Tutorial here.  Although a little tricky to get it right - I was Pom Pomming in no time!

All the squares were joined together as I went.  Which for someone who finds random colouring hard - this did make it a little difficult to just pick a colour that would go next.  But I admit to a bit of planing with the yarn as I went.
