A dream come true!

Many years ago when I started designing quilts being featured in Homespun was something that I dreamed about.  Well this month my dream came true!  Not only have I been featured for the first time with my quilt - "Sew Reel" but it also made the cover!

I designed the quilt with Cotton Reels to reflect my love of sewing and stitching. The "thread" on each of the spools if machine stitched using Gutermann Sulky thread to create the lines and look of the cotton on the reel.  The words "Sew Reel"  was a play on words.  I could not be happier to have such a wonderful feature in the magazine and in the coming months will have other projects featured as well.

There was even an editorial on me.  Issue out now.

Sometimes I just love to get in my sewing room and just sew.  I had these Little Red Riding Hood fabrics by Tasha Noel for Riley Blake Fabrics and wanted to stitch up something fun.

This cot size quilt will be headed to my Etsy store very soon.

  1. Congratulations! That's very exciting. How does Gutermann Sulky compare with their other threads?

    1. Hi Karen, yes I love the Gutermann Sulky - the quality is fantastic and the colour range is great. - Just that touch of special on a quilt.
