Triangle Little Red Riding Hood quilt all complete

Sometimes I love to make quilts - just because!

I had in my stash a bundle of the beautiful "Little red Riding Hood" fabrics by Tasha Noel for Riley Blake Designs.  I have actually been working on a whole new quilt pattern using these fabrics that will be released soon (but more on that another day).

And with a new quilt ladder to hang quilts and to use as a prop for photos.

Fussy cut triangles that feature Little Red Riding Hood, The Wolf and Grandmothers house have been incorporated to compliment the triangular design and for interest.

Now available this sweet Cot size quilt in my Etsy store

A dream come true!

Many years ago when I started designing quilts being featured in Homespun was something that I dreamed about.  Well this month my dream came true!  Not only have I been featured for the first time with my quilt - "Sew Reel" but it also made the cover!

I designed the quilt with Cotton Reels to reflect my love of sewing and stitching. The "thread" on each of the spools if machine stitched using Gutermann Sulky thread to create the lines and look of the cotton on the reel.  The words "Sew Reel"  was a play on words.  I could not be happier to have such a wonderful feature in the magazine and in the coming months will have other projects featured as well.

There was even an editorial on me.  Issue out now.

Sometimes I just love to get in my sewing room and just sew.  I had these Little Red Riding Hood fabrics by Tasha Noel for Riley Blake Fabrics and wanted to stitch up something fun.

This cot size quilt will be headed to my Etsy store very soon.

Diary of a Custom Order Quilt - Part 2

It is always hard to part with a quilt.

But knowing it is going to a home to be treasured and loved is all I need.

This quilt was commissioned by Indi at Kid Independent. She has written up a lovely feature of how this quilt all came together over at her website. Thanks for this feature Indi and your kind words on the quilt I made for your special arrival.
